I am a TSgt in the USAF, Capt Elzeftawy represented me in a court martial trial for BAH (housing allowance) fraud (larceny) and a false official statement. I thought that this would be a no win situation, but Capt Elzeftawy walked me through every step of the legal process and researched every aspe...ct of my case in detail. I never thought that a lawyer would actually care about a defendant. She definitely proved me wrong and then proved the prosecution wrong during the trial. Most lawyers seem like they are in the job for the money. I always thought that the more money you spend for the lawyer the better the lawyer. Military lawyers do not get paid anything other than their normal pay for representing a client. I asked her if she got any credit or anything for winning a trial and she just told me she got job satisfaction. That is what you want in a lawyer. She showed over and over that she cared about me and my family and that she is not in the job for money. She is in it to defend the innocent and she proved it during my trial. I pled guilty to the false official statement and not guilty to the larceny. She fought an aggressive prosecution team and an entire room of financial and military personnel experts during a three day court martial process. There was literally an entire room of people including my chain of command on the prosecution side of the court room aiding the prosecution. I only had Capt Elzeftawy and her paralegal (who was awesome too!) She didn't back down for a second. The first day was normal, but the next two days were HELL! On the second day she had to have worked for at least 18 hours straight and on the final day we started court at 0800 and she was in and working by 0600 after driving an hour and a half to the base. We finished up around 2300 that night with a not guilty verdict that shocked my entire chain of command and she continued to fight for me during the sentencing for the false official statement. In the end I only received a reprimand and rank reduction to E-4. I don't think there could have been a better outcome for me. When the not guilty verdict was read I know she was just as happy as I was and when we went to recess she actually hugged me in the court room! Military people usually don't do public displays like that, but she didn't care. This is what someone that actually cares does! If you are looking for someone that will help you in what is probably the hardest time of your life then you will not find anyone better then Capt Jane Elzeftawy. (her name is hard to say though) I am very thankful to have been lucky enough to have her represent me and will never forget how much effort and care she put into helping me.
