Extremely Unprofessional, Unresponsive, and Disappointing — Think Twice Before Hiring This Attorney Our experience with this attorney has been absolutely horrible. The lack of professionalism, communication, accountability, and follow-through has been beyond frustrating. Court deadlines were ...missed, he failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing, and sanctions were imposed. We were left dealing with the consequences during an already stressful divorce, and ultimately had to terminate the attorney-client relationship and hire new counsel. The problems did not end when we fired him. For weeks, I have been requesting my client file, and he still has not provided it to me or my new attorney. We have had to spend additional money paying our new attorney to try to obtain files that should be made available for the transition to new counsel. Think about that: I am now paying a new attorney to try to get my own case files from my former attorney. It is costing me even more money just to get the information needed to move my case forward. The financial burden and frustration have been unbelievable. Calls have gone unanswered, communication has been poor, and the lack of accountability has made an already difficult situation significantly worse. We also have serious concerns about honesty and ethical conduct based on our experience. Divorce is emotionally and financially exhausting. Clients deserve an attorney who meets deadlines, shows up to court, returns calls, handles their case responsibly, and cooperates when the professional relationship ends. We did not receive the level of service or professionalism we expected. We have paid substantial additional legal fees, endured unnecessary stress, and spent time trying to resolve problems that should not have occurred in the first place. I would urge anyone considering hiring this attorney to do thorough research, ask detailed questions, and carefully review his professional record before trusting him with something as important as their divorce. Based on our experience, I would not recommend him. One important point: Because you’re considering a malpractice claim, keep copies of your written requests for the client file and your new attorney’s requests, along with invoices showing the extra fees. Those records may be useful to the lawyer evaluating your case.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
