Michael Patrick Dastas

Michael P. Dastas is a California Licensed Attorney and Sacramento native currently working as an Associate Family Law Attorney for Miller & Associates, Attorneys LLP. Prior to Miller & Associates, Michael worked for the International Rescue Committee (IRC), where he provides critical legal support to asylum seekers and individuals seeking humanitarian protection. A passionate advocate for immigrant rights, Michael earned his B.A. in History from UC Davis in 2018 and his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2022, where his involvement in the Immigration Clinic deepened his commitment to providing justice for the community.

Michael’s work advocating for asylum seekers and individuals seeking humanitarian protection has sharpened his legal skills in emotionally complex, high-stakes cases. Many of which overlap with issues commonly seen in family law, such as child custody, domestic violence, and family reunification. His commitment to pro bono service has given him courtroom experience and the ability to navigate sensitive, deeply personal legal matters with empathy and professionalism. He is prepared to handle the multifaceted challenges of family law with a nuanced, client-centered approach. This combination of legal expertise, compassion, and commitment to vulnerable populations make Michael a thoughtful and effective family law attorney.

When Michael is not practicing Family Law, he likes to go on long hikes in Tahoe with his fiancée and their Border Collie – Pitbull mix, Ruby. Michael also has a passion to long distance running, boxing and kayaking.
