Chassity D. Dawson

I cannot recommend Chassity Dawson based on my experience. Communication was one of the biggest problems. There were long periods where I received no updates, and on multiple occasions she scheduled appointments to speak with me but then failed to call, cancel, or reschedule. I was left repeatedly fo...llowing up just to find out what was going on. Another concern was that she accepted my case even though it did not appear to fall within the primary areas of law listed on her professional profile. Looking back, I question whether she had the experience necessary to properly handle my matter. I hired her to represent and defend me in a specific legal proceeding. I did not feel adequately prepared, I was not properly advised of my rights, and I did not receive the level of advocacy I expected from an attorney. I relied on her professional guidance, and I was disappointed with the representation I received. We also had a clear agreement regarding the scope of representation. After another legal issue arose, she agreed to assist with that as well. Throughout the process she led me to believe she would still handle the original matter I hired her for. However, after the proceeding had already been scheduled, she informed me she would no longer represent me in that capacity and would only assist in a different, more limited role. That was never what we had discussed or agreed upon, and it left me in a difficult position. Finally, her profile suggests she is available whenever clients need her, but my experience was very different. I was told she would only be available between approximately 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., which did not match the expectations created by her profile. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering hiring this attorney to carefully evaluate whether she is the right fit for their case. Legal matters are too important to risk inadequate communication, changing commitments, and representation that does not meet your expectations. I would not hire her again.
