My practice is comprised exclusively of family law cases, which includes providing counseling and representation to individuals in dissolution (divorce) proceedings, actions to establish a parental relationship (paternity), and cases involving the issues of child custody, visitation, child and spousal support, and the division of property and retirement accounts. As such this figure should actually be 100%, as the focus of my practice is exclusively in this area of law.

As such this figure should actually be 100%, and it includes providing counseling and representation to my clients in dissolution (divorce) proceedings, actions to establish a parental relationship (paternity), and the issues of child custody, visitation, child and spousal support, and the allocation and division of property and retirement accounts that are an inherent part of those proceedings.

This figure is a bit of a misnomer, in that litigation is an inherent part of almost all family law proceedings, and I am therefore involved in litigation whenever I file a case with the court. As such this percentage should actually be 100%, since litigation and a trial may be required in any given case, however I will always endeavor to settle my clients' cases, as long as there is a reciprocal interest in an amicable resolution, and a settlement is not detrimental to their interests

In addition to my family law practice, I periodically serve as a court appointed referee on complex family law cases, and I offer my services as a private judge to other family law practitioners who want to expedite the resolution of their cases or to have a case heard outside the confines of a traditional courtroom. In order to act in this capacity I receive a temporary appointment from the presiding judge, and I will handle all aspects of arbitrations and mediations, and traditional trials.
