Tracy Desutter Rain

​A partner attorney at Rain & Zepp, PLC, Tracy Rain is a trial lawyer. Over the past 17 years, Tracy has represented hundreds of individuals, children, families, corporations, and estates in their fight for justice. Tracy has tried over 100 bench trials and has mediated/arbitrated hundreds more cases.

Tracy’s legal career began in Humboldt County as a sole practitioner for 14 years. In sole practice, Tracy focused primarily on facilitating adoptions, guardianships, child custody conflicts, juvenile dependency matters, estate planning, and Tracy’s sole practice tailored its pro bono services to provide legal assistance to homeless individuals and local environmental activists.

Tracy attended undergraduate school at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. She graduated cum laude from California Western School of Law in San Diego in December 1999, and she passed the February 2000 California State Bar Exam.

Tracy partnered with Attorney Beorn Zepp in January 2015 and together, Rain & Zepp, PLC has focused on providing legal services narrowly tailored to meet the changing and growing needs of the cannabis industry in Humboldt County and California, both medical and recreational. The firm has assisted dozens of companies in their efforts to become and remain compliant with fast-evolving state and local regulations. As well, Rain & Zepp, PLC endeavors to provide legal services in the fields of securing intellectual property rights, facilitating real property transactions, and estate planning.

Tracy also spearheaded Rain & Zepp, PLC’s apprenticeship program, directly supervising two law students study of law at Rain & Zepp, PLC. Through the apprenticeship program, Rain & Zepp, PLC is training the next generation of attorneys handling similar legal issues in the future.
