Education
Steve Fabian studied law at the University of San Francisco School of Law, earning a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude (with honors) degree.

He earned a Bachelor of Science with High Honors degree in Multi-Disciplinary Social Science at Michigan State University, where he was inducted into the Honors College and made the Dean’s List.

After passing the California Bar examination on his first attempt, he was sworn in to practice before the California Bar and the Federal District Court of Northern California.

Experience
Prior to opening his own law office, Steve Fabian worked for over 30 years at the Law Office of the Public Defender, County of Sonoma, as a Deputy Public Defender and then Chief Deputy Public Defender.  There he mastered criminal law and trial skills as a criminal defense attorney.  His work as a criminal defense lawyer included hundreds of trials, preliminary hearings, appeals and motions.  He was placed in charge of supervising other attorneys and training law clerks in legal research.  He created a legal research database for the office and helped in training attorneys in criminal defense techniques.  Steve Fabian was in court every day, defending both adults and juveniles facing charges ranging from traffic offenses, misdemeanors, to felonies.  His extensive trial experience means you have an attorney who is not afraid to go to court to fight for you.

For 17 years he has taught other attorneys trail techniques and strategies at California Public Defenders Association’s Trial Skills Seminar.
