People v. Michael G
Aug 13, 2018OUTCOME: DWI charges amended to Parking Tickets, and client released from jail.
Michael was arrested on May 20, 2018 and charged with DWI. He was initially represented by an assigned Legal Aid attorney. He was held in custody for 30 days and was offered 9 months in jail if he ent ... ered a guilty plea. On June 20, 2018, he retained me. I immediately met with witnesses, took statements and made a motion. On July 11, 2018 we conducted a Pre-trial hearing where I cross examined the police witnesses and and obtained testimony that made the case very difficult for the prosecutor to prove. The matter was immediately scheduled for trial. On the morning that the trial was to begin, the prosecutor admitted he could not prove the case after my cross examination of the police witness. The DWI charges were reduced to parking tickets and my client was released from jail.
