Highly recommend Lydia

I went through years of litigation and switched attorneys several times because my prior attorneys did not respond to emails or articulate my position to the other side or judge. Lydia completely turned my case around and we were able to settle before trial. Other issues have arisen in my case, a...nd I trust that Lydia and her team will be able to successfully assist me in resolving those issues as well. I wish I had hired her from the beginning.

Trustworthy attorney! efficient, professional AND compassionate

I am so grateful to have found Lydia during a complex and time sensitive divorce proceeding. She is an exceptional attorney who worked efficiently to understand my case and quickly began to strategize my options. The firm as a whole is highly responsive and also mindful of costs-so you are treated no...t just professionally, but also compassionately during a stressful time. Lydia understands the potential obstacles within the family law court system and provides clear and concise path forward. I highly valued her honesty regarding explaining the pros/cons during filings and when an issue was out of her family law scope- she even provided me excellent references. Working with Lydia gave me confidence that I was moving forward in the best way possible for my family and the investment was well worth it-highly highly recommended Lydia Hsu and her firm!

Disengaged, poor responder, demeaning, & too busy to care

This review is intended to be useful not spiteful and to serve a cautionary experience for those who are in a vulnerable position due to dissolution. Lydia was assigned to my case (2 years) and never could take the necessary time to reply to my questions. She was always too busy, in trial, or disco...nnected. When you are new to this arena, your best asset is your attorney who should be there with support and legal advice. Unfortunately, Lydia's personal life was more important and was prioritized over the fiduciary duty to her clients. Her style at first seemed authoritative and professional, but underlying the facade was a demeaning way of communicating. She conducted herself with arrogant authority that actually resulted in poor judgment in two instances and cost me loss of spousal support for several months. Her follow through was abysmal, and I almost missed a critical deadline that would have cost me >$1M in support because she didn't have a strong understanding of all aspects of family law code and the timing of what needed to be filed. Yet she commanded me, literally, to meet unrealistic deadlines (which I never missed) then upon receipt asked opposing counsel for a one-month extension as a "professional courtesy" because she was too busy to process my case. Look elsewhere.
