Find another more expensive lawyer, it will be worthy

David is a very friendly person, He may be a good friend in life, but definitely not a competent lawyer for you. This review is only based on his behavior as a licensed lawyer. I hired David for my family court case in early 2019. After I spent $13000+ , I got nothing done, except lost my visitati...on with my daughter per his help. During a mediation in June 2019, David misled me to sign a stipulation which was written in a tricky way that in favor of the opposing party. I pointed out that issue and expressed my concern to David. He said it is OK and promised me that I will continue have my visitation, but I lost it due to that stipulation. Then, his perfect explanation for his own malpractice is that there is always something unpredictable in family court. Later, I realized that he knows that mediator and he was trying to be nice to her by ignoring my concerns. This is certainly a malpractice case and I already filed a malpractice complaint with the bar association. Over this whole process, David demonstrated a talent to purposely make simple topics very complicated, the only consequences is that you will have a pay a larger amount of bill for nothing. ( I already submitted a fee arbitration request to the bar association) 1. Whenever you ask a question, he will not answer you directly. Instead, he will list more than ten possibilities to confuse you, so to make a lengthy discussion for even a quite simple question. Of course, all these will be on your bill. 2. He will make every legal procedure ten times complicated, and purposely try to make every details to be perfect. It looks like he is trying to do a detailed job for you, However, you will spend double or triple as it supposed to be. For example, it took me $1000+ to do a simple subpoena, and I even provided the draft of it. He went back and forth with me for more than twenty emails and spent hours on making phones to every one possibly involved with this, and He tried to considered all the possible situations. 3. This also applies to any format of communication. It usually takes 10+ emails to communicate for a quite straightforward issue. I was really tired of this game. As I mentioned before, He may looks professional in front of the client with all these lengthy talking. Interestingly, he becomes very incompetent when facing the opposing party's lawyer, and the judge. In all these hearings while he presents me, he was always very quiet and barely say anything for me in front of the judge, while the other party's attorney is keep talking and attacking. Where is your talent on the court? David. Even though, his rate is lower than other lawyers, but I really DO NOT recommend him for all the above reasons. Remember that the final bill equals to the rate * hours spent on your case. You will spent even more than hiring other lawyers since David will make the hours double or even triple with his super talent. The most important thing is that you will still LOSE all the hearings even after you pay extra money. Lastly, if you still decide to take the risk. A kind reminder is that you can always contact the bar association for fee arbitration if you end up being overcharged. Oh, BTW, David told me in the email that he will be a member of the fee arbitration committee soon, so he will have more experience than you.

A client

David Rubin is very professional and easily gained my trust. My case was complicated but it didn't stop him to deal with issues. He is knowledgeable, has effective strategy, excellent analytical skills, and courtroom technique. I was able to get full physical custody, monetary compensation, child su...pport and many advices that helped me to deal with abusive partner's behavior. Still, if I have some questions or advice about my case, Mr. Rubin always follows up and willing to help. I'm immensely thankful for his services and recommend to anyone who need an excellent lawyer!

David is a terrific attorney!

Mr. Rubin took my divorce case through the Project Pro Bono organization for people with very low incomes and did a wonderful job. He paid close attention to details and filed all the court documents on time. He never missed a court date and always briefed me on what would happen at the hearings. Dav...id also made sure I received the court-ordered spousal support. David never made me feel like a second-class client. He even helped me when a new landlord refused to allow my service dog! I am grateful for all he did for me. I would recommend him to anyone. David is a terrific attorney!
