A family member requested assistance in providing collateral for his Bail Bond for what turned out to be an enormous bail amount. I did some soul-searching and decided that I was willing to put up the $80K of equity in my home (which was only ~10% of the entire bail, but circumstances were what they... were, and I had come to terms with it).
