I was 74 years old when I was diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma. At the time of my diagnosis I was a retired nurse. I was never occupationally exposed to asbestos. However I did breathe in asbestos fibers at home when I laundered my husband's dirty work clothes. My husband had worked in a foundry ...and at a ship–dismantling yard in Richmond, California.
