A very knowledgable and even-handed mediator

It is such an advantage that Robert is both a lawyer and an MFT. My wife and I have a mutual/amicable divorce, and Robert walked us through all of the details and potential pratfalls with confidence and good humor. He was great for our situation, and I imagine he would be equally capable with more c...omplex separations.

navigating rocky waters

Robert was a close family friend who we engaged to mediate our divorce. Very sensitive issues and strong emotions were involved so it was risky to employ a friend, but we trusted Robert's fairness, sensitivity, and professionalism. He deftly navigated us through rocky waters such that my ex and mysel...f are able to cooperatively co-parent with a minimum of acrimony, which has been a huge benefit to our son. And our friendship with Robert thankfully survived the experience. I am forever grateful and happy to recommend his services.

Great...balanced and resourceful

My ex and I had as good a mediation as I think possible, given the circumstances. Robert was very balanced, and quite skilled at keeping us focused on the issues and coming to agreements. He was very impartial. I also really appreciated the wisdom and advice he offered as far as helping our kids g...et through divorce.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I endorse Robert Terris as a uniquely skilled and effective family law (divorce) mediator. I have referred a number of my own clients and others to Robert for neutral mediation and have found that his training and experience as both a family therapist and a licensed attorney have greatly benefitted everyone I have referred. Strongly endorse Robert Terris."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
