Joanne Helvig removed my previous review, which I wrote after hiring this firm to handle my workers’ compensation claim with Hartford Casualty Insurance. Additionally, I noticed that they had two other negative reviews on Avvo, which, along with mine, have since been removed — seemingly to boost thei...r overall ratings. Here is a summary of my experience: This law firm initially stood out during my search, and their prompt follow-ups and responsiveness at the beginning gave me confidence to hire them. However, things changed dramatically after I signed the retainer agreement. From that point on, my calls and emails went unanswered. During the first two weeks, the only actions they took were submitting the medical report I had provided to my insurance company and assigning a treating physician to my case. No paperwork was ever filed with the court. Despite my repeated attempts to reach them, I ultimately decided to hire a new attorney. It took nearly ten days to have my claim file released from their office, and it contained only a few pages. To make matters worse, they placed a lien on my case, demanding payment from my new attorney. This was puzzling, given their minimal involvement — they likely spent less than 30 minutes submitting paperwork and assigning a physician.
