Janice Cho

Janice drafted a Prenuptial Agreement and acted as my attorney during the discussions with my partner's Counsel. We were working with her from abroad and she did a great job of meeting with us during hours that worked with us and communicating largely via email. Further to that, her work was comprehe...nsive and the cost matched what was agreed upon. I would be happy to work with Janice again.

Lawyer Cho, was not as good as I was expecting it. I am not sure if in my case, she didn't have enough time or she just didn't know how to handle the case. I felt that she didn't give me the security that I needed to leave my case in her hands without getting worried. In fact I have to switch to ...a different lawyer because she was still billing and we were not moving forward in the case.

I worked with Janice on my Child Custody case since 2012. Unfortunately, after years of a trustworthy relationship, Janice provided me with terrible legal advice on more than one occasion. Knowing how physically, emotionally and financially I was drained, Janice explained to me that I could drop my m...otion since I was the moving party. When I left a letter for the Judge in my case, stating I wished to drop my motion (this letter was drafted by Janice), the Court Clerk called me to inform me that I would need the other party to agree to move the hearing from the calendar. I told Janice the news and she advised me to not show up to Mediation or my hearing, again stating because I was the moving party, the court could not move forward with my motion. Taking her advise, I did not show up to Mediation, which cost me greatly in court. Not only was I fined, the other party was granted everything they asked for, the Judge also informed me that once a party has responded to a motion, it is impossible to just drop it. This is a law I would expect Janice to be fully aware of. Even more disappointing, Janice did not take responsibility or apologize for any of the poor advice she gave me after I brought this to her attention. I will be formally filing a complaint against her with the California Bar Association.
