Seeking legal help can be scary especially when your fighting for your child with someone you thought would be rational. I use to live in California and now in NY ( my home state) with my daughter. I was threaten with custody, (in the beginning he wanted to take our daughter),and child support (he wa...nted money, he made more than me and refused to send anything for her for almost 2 years). I was representing myself when our case began in 2019. I developed anxiety and was stressed out by the lies and he was telling to his attorney. I felt I was not being heard in court because I was representing myself and his attorney was not looking to work with me or looking out for the best interest of the child or her client. After speaking on the phone with both attorneys I felt comfortable with Sandhya. Again, I live in New York, we did not meet everything I’m going by is my gut. During our first conversation I felt heard by Sandhya. She listens, and her voice was so calm which is what I needed in an attorney along with being communicative when needed and a fighter. I needed someone that knew what he or she was doing and was looking out for me and my daughter. With Sandhya’s huge help I was able to finally receive child support and back child support along with changing our custody agreement. I could finally breath and wasn’t stressed filing court documents. Do understand I’m a single mother, so attorney fees isn’t something I had in mind or took lightly, especially when you feel like things are being dragged out either by the other side or the court. I came to think of this as an investment for my child and my peace of mind. I do not regret getting an attorney and felt blessed that I had Sandhya. Sandhya is a great listener, caring, give honest feedback and has a gift for picking up a person energy which came in handy when making a decision on how to or when approach a situation in and out of court. Even though my child support and custody has been established, I’m still working with Sandhya to recalculate child support due to new expenses for my child. I believe it was best to work with my attorney due to the father of my child has a history for not assisting financially and wanted it documented in court.
