As the mother to a daughter with dyslexia, I understand that navigating the special education process can be intimidating for parents. Having gone through the testing and IEP process with my own child, I understandsthe frustration parents often feel wanting so desperately to get their children the help they need, yet not knowing how to begin the process or how to effectively advocate for their children.
After nearly 12 years of civil litigation defense work throughout California, I now practice as a Special Education attorney and advocate. My practice focuses on educating parents regarding their rights, the procedures, and the process of getting their children tested for learning disabilities and then implementing appropriate accommodations and interventions through the IEP process. I work with parents to develop a strategy and plan to get their children the individualized support they need. I also act as an intermediary between the school and parents and attend school meetings for those who desire the extra support.
Whether you need a consultant behind the scenes, or someone to take the lead, I can work with you to develop an approach that best suits your needs.
