His priority is his family, just like ours. When we met with Michael, we learned about his grandfather’s tragic death, and how the lack of his grandparent’s estate planning resulted in severe financial hardship on his widow grandmother and his father growing up as a child. It was a devastating story to hear. But from his family’s unfortunate experience, grew Michael’s desire and personal goal to help other families avoid what his family had gone through. His mission statement is very admirable and encouraging. Michael is honest and compassionate. Knowing that Michael has our family’s best interest in mind made us feel very comfortable in sharing our personal information with him. Michael made the entire process run smoothly and seamlessly. He even came to our house for our appointment knowing that it would be a comfortable and private place for us to discuss our personal information. He also anticipated that it would be convenient for us to have easy access to all of our documents and files at home that he needed to prepare our living trust and will. Michael spent a considerable amount of time and effort in asking us the right questions - thought provoking questions for which some of them we had never even thought about before, all of the “what if’s” and the possible outcomes based on the decisions we made. He provided many examples and different scenarios and gave good, sound advice, while acknowledging that ultimately all of the decisions were to be made by us. Michael communicated clearly and spoke in a way that made it easy to understand. If there was anything we didn’t understand or wasn't clear on, he would explain it in a way that was easy to understand, using simple terms since we weren’t familiar with some of the legal terms and what they meant. Life is filled with uncertainties and 2020 was a major wake up call! There’s peace and comfort in knowing that we can manage a certain amount of “control” in our lives by preparing for our family’s future with proper estate planning.
