Yuk Shan Ku

Yuki Ku is the founder of Roots & Wings Legal, P.C., a Walnut Creek law firm serving business-owning families navigating succession, ownership transitions, M&A, governance, and other consequential business transitions.

She serves as Enterprise Counsel to business families, helping connect business strategy, ownership, governance, and legal implementation so that major transitions are designed and executed as one coordinated plan.

Her work includes family business succession, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder and partner buyouts, ownership restructurings, corporate governance, buy-sell and ownership agreements, and multigenerational ownership planning.

Before founding Roots & Wings Legal, Yuki practiced corporate and M&A law at K&L Gates and Covington & Burling and later served as Head of Legal for a venture-backed technology company. She has worked on more than 200 acquisitions, investments, and complex strategic transactions.

Yuki is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Family Firm Institute (FFI), and Mount Diablo Estate Planning Council, and serves on the Professional Advisors Council of the San Francisco Foundation.
