Vanessa Smith

Vanessa has successfully handled a wide range of complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, property characterization and division, and restraining orders. Her expertise in high-net-worth business and property cases allows her to quickly and efficiently resolve high-conflict family law cases without the need for protracted litigation.

Vanessa has more than 20 years of experience in law practice as an attorney and paralegal, and she has successfully resolved hundreds of multi-million-dollar legal disputes and other legal matters involving family law, business and property issues, and complex multi-national financial transactions. In addition to her experience in complex cases, Vanessa has devoted a large portion of her practice to helping clients successfully resolve difficult issues in child custody, visitation, child support and spousal support cases.

Vanessa earned her law degree from the University of San Francisco and has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles. She has worked as a Volunteer Attorney in the San Francisco Bar Association’s Volunteer Legal Services Program handling family law cases for low-income clients, and as a Volunteer Court-Appointed Special Advocate in the Superior Court for disadvantaged children. Vanessa has also acted as Of Counsel to the National Center for Youth Law in its Foster Youth Education Initiative.
