I consulted with this attorney. I sent her my information and was asked immediately for a retainer. In being from out of town, I felt I was being taken advantage of. I then arranged to send her my information and never heard back, then was asked for more money. Her demeanor over the phone was harsh. ...In hiring a divorce lawyer, you need someone who is going to be on your side. I was treated as a cash cow. Not professional.

We discussed and Paula agreed upon a plan of attack and strategy. Paula did not follow through with this in her work. The work product contained errors. Communication was difficult about anything other than billing. Few to no preparations were made for my trial. I was asked to lie to the court. I did... not lie to the court. A complaint against her to the State Bar was finally made this year.

Paula is NOT a good lawyer. She talks alot of hot air, but actually has very poor results. She tries to negotiate more with the opposing lawyers because she knows she's NOT as skillful in the court room. All the other lawyers who've dealth with her probably knows that too, so they do negotiate with h...er, knowing that they will get her to take the shorter end of the stick (not as good of a deal), but she tells her client to take her best shot of the deal that she just made with the opposing cousel. NOT good. She doesn't return your call or email as much once she's taken your money.
