The defendant got into a fight with the victim over drug turf in Richmond, CA. The defendant ended up pulling a gun and shooting the victim approximately 15 times and then left him for dead. I prosec...uted the defendant, and after a two week long trial, the jury convicted the defendant of murder with use of a firearm. The defendant was sentenced to Life in Prison.

When I was a Deputy District Attorney, for several years I was assigned to the Domestic Violence Unit. Three of those years I prosecuted the hard core domestic assaults, including shootings, stabbings..., kidnappings and torture. One of those cases involved a man hog tying his pregnant girlfriend, strangling her and beating her over a period of hours. Along with numerous welts, bruises, and contusions, he broke her windpipe and fractured her skull. We charged him with torture several assault charges. After a lengthy trial, the jury convicted him of torture and other charges. He is now doing life in prison.
