A person working on CPT may file for OPT EAD with the CPT employer but is NOT employment authorized until EAD approval.

It is uncommon, but does happen, that biometrics are scheduled close to the interview. The biometrics may delay adjudication of the GC.

That is really a question to ask social security. I believe you must be a permanent resident or citizen to receive social security.
