Will not back his work

If you want an attorney that will stand behind their work don’t come here.I filed bankruptcy years ago and a creditor was able to come back 3yeard later and garnish my pay. Mr Keenan promised to help but acted like I was a bother .He pretended like we did not exist once the garnishment was stopped.Hr... did not follow through on his promise to help us obtain our money back.So if you want an attorney that will do nothing after a creditor takes thousands out of your pay years later even after your suppose to be protected under the bankruptcy code.Use him you will not get a fresh start

Very professional and patient

Mr. Keenan is my attorney for a Chapter 7 case. His fee is very reasonable for a Bay Area attorney. But let's just stop right there. It's typically known that you "get what you pay for." I'm not seeing that with Mr. Keenan. I've contacted several bankruptcy attorneys--expensive attorneys--the re...al stereotypical ones. The lawyers you'd see driving a Tesla down 880 to go forcibly extract the seven-figure settlement from the opposing side. You know, the kind of lawyer who doesn't know you and doesn't have time for you, and he's charging you $400 an hour to just be in his presence. Bills you $150 to compose a three-sentence e-mail. Or whatever stereotype you can think of when you think of a 'successful and expensive" attorney. Yeah... Mr. Keenan's demeanor was quite humble, very knowledgeable, and exceptionally patient. The man has somehow managed to respond to like 50 emails from me this week, most of them from today; and there was never any indication of impatience. That tells me that he is meticulous, and deliberate when it comes to his work. We even bounced back and forth between a possible refund. Most lawyers would just keep your money for all the time they communicated with you as "billable hours." But he made a good faith effort to be understanding. In the end, we're proceeding with the case, and I am very happy with his service so far. Thanks for helping someone through a challenging legal issue, for the first time. You've been great.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
