I have worked with lawyers in relation to contracting for software sales and services for the past 30 years. These were lawyers working at major technology companies. I have worked with a number of good lawyers, some average lawyers and a few that left much to be desired. Without hesitation, I can... state that James is the best I have encountered. He is logical and practical. In negotiations, he seeks common ground and proposes solutions that protect his company, yet recognize the position of the client. He is able to distinguish between what is nice to have in a contract versus what is critical. In net, he thinks strategically. His communication skills, both within our company and with those with whom we are negotiating are excellent. He does not lose his cool and he is able to restate complex positions so that the client understands. Also, his work ethic is amazing. He commits to aggressive response times - and he always delivers. A measure of the respect he has earned at our company is his rapid rise to a leadership position on our legal staff. Our CEO looks to James to lead internal initiatives for improving company legal processes. His work was a critical part of our achieving our ISO 9001 certification. He also has a good perspective on life and a sense of humor. Obviously, I think very highly of James and his skills.
