My personal experience includes raising a very diverse family under various circumstances that include a mixture of severely disabled, gay and mixed race family members. I have been a single mother as well as experienced the "blending" of families through remarriage. I have worn many family hats, from "stay at home" mother to partner in a community business and understand the complexities that different arrangements and family dynamics can bring to a case.
