More Harmful Than Good

Having this public defender defend your case is worse than going it alone. she will actually do more harm than good. She is deceitful, dishonest, and irresponsible. Once you discover these things for yourself it is too late. She will not let you change attorneys. In my case she said at our initial me...eting that she agreed with everything I said. Then later refused to make even the slightest effort to defend me at the most important hearing (motion to suppress). She actually handed the job over to a attorney in training who fell on his face at that hearing which was his debut court appearance. She never uttered a word at that hearing. When I told her I might want a Marsden hearing to change my attorney she manipulated the court and made the motion herself and had the hearing heard by a judge who was a former colleague of hers. At that hearing was the first time I saw her pull out a pen. That is because she was arguing against me. She colluded with the judge by exchanging notes with the judge prior to the hearing and of course my request to be assigned another attorney was denied. I was stuck with her. Thank God the judge and the district attorney were good decent people. I honestly felt they were on my side more than my public defender. I have respect for them. This attorney is nothing but an overpaid government worker who cares only about herself and her huge salary. She will not seek true justice. She can only get you a deal. If you piss her off by criticizing her that deal will end up being six years in prison like mine was. If you get this attorney you need to try to fire her immediately and good luck with that.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education

  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
