Ashar Ahmed

Ashar represents and advises clients on a broad range of business, real estate, probate disputes and transactional matters. He represents companies and individuals in high-stakes, complex litigation matters involving financial fraud, class action securities fraud, corporate governance, breach of fiduciary duty, trade secrets, data breaches, defamation, intellectual property, and consumer fraud. He also represents clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions and litigation matters including real estate brokers, nuisance cases, disclosure cases, and boundary line and easement disputes. He has also led major investigations involving financial fraud and regulatory violations. Ashar has served as corporate general counsel for companies, advising them on corporate governance, transactional, regulatory and privacy matters.

Previously Ashar was a Partner at Nossaman, LLP and an associate at Robbin Geller Rudman & Dowd, LLP – both national firms. His previous experiences at PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG as a CPA/Auditor complements his strong business and financial acumen. Ashar also externed with the Honorable John T. Noonan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the Honorable John E. Munter of the San Francisco Superior Court, and with Office of the Attorney General for the California Department of Justice. Ashar is a graduate of University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and holds a Bachelor of Science, Accounting from Purdue University.

In 2013, he was an honoree on the Lawyers of Color’s list, which is a comprehensive listing of the nation’s most influential minority attorneys and non-minority legal diversity advocates, including corporate general counsel, law firm managing partners, law school deans, and the highest-ranking government attorneys.

Ashar is fluent in Urdu and Hindi. When he is not working, you can find him spending quality time with his family and volunteering in his community. He is also involved in various charities and serves on the boards of national and local non-profit organizations.
