Biography
I am an appellate attorney with a sophisticated and varied practice in the federal courts and the California state courts. My civil practice includes representing businesses and individuals in commercial, employment, class action, telecommunications, and other matters. As a criminal appellate lawyer, I represent clients in appeals of their convictions and sentences stemming from drug, firearm, and other serious offenses.
Before I launched my own firm in late 2012, I was a trial and appellate attorney for one of San Francisco's most prestigious law firms, Coblentz, Patch, Duffy & Bass. I also previously clerked for two federal judges, including the current Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, R. Guy Cole, Jr. As an appellate law clerk, I gained an insider's perspective on what makes for superior written and oral appellate advocacy, an experience that enriches the insights I now bring to my clients.
