John Garret Deal

Mr. Deal has represented clients in hundreds of matters at depositions, mediations and arbitrations.  He has successfully negotiated resolution of dozens of matters without the need for litigation.

Mr. Deal began his career at a highly regarded litigation firm advocating on behalf of multinational corporations in a wide variety of high-profile product liability, environmental and antitrust matters.  On the cutting edge of the law, he represented these Fortune 500 clients in complex litigation.

Mr. Deal was also an associate at one of the largest and most well respected firms in the East Bay representing police officers and public entities in lawsuits involving allegations of police misconduct.

Additionally, Mr. Deal has been in-house counsel at one of the largest automobile insurance companies in the United States.  

Prior to joining the Law Offices of Ray T. Rockwell, Mr. Deal ran his own law office where he successfully represented numerous clients in personal injury litigation.

Mr. Deal received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2006.  He graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga in 2002, where he was a member of the Varsity Golf Team and recognized as All-Academic in the West Coast Conference.  He is a fourth-generation California lawyer and a lifelong resident of Lafayette.
