My wife and I heard about Jake and his law firm in the Fall of 2008 from the head of housekeeping at our son's elementary school and how he helped a friend of hers obtain her Permanent Residency. I finally gave Jake a call on March 26, 2009 and Jake followed up our brief conversation with a nice e...mail. Jake was open and helpful on the telephone and you could tell he was a nice and friendly guy too as you could hear laughter and people busily talking in the background with Jake being friendly and nice while at the same time being extremely professional and cordial too. We were expecting nice things when we met with Jake for the first time on April 1, 2009 and we were not disappointed. Jake's down to earth and gentle spirit was extremely helpful in enabling my wife and I along with our then four year old son to all relax and be ready to answer all of his questions so that he and his team could get the process going for my wife's Adjustment of Status (AOS) Petition. You could tell that Jake and his team are world travelers from the international decor of their conference room and the many travel pursuits of their employees as well as their happy clientele as detailed in a portfolio we looked through containing many pictures and letters sent to Jake and his team from their many smiling clients. Further, we love the way that Jake and his team treat you as a person with kind and gentle respect and mannerisms which really puts you at ease from time you first talk to them on the phone to meeting with them in their offices and all the subsequent phone calls, meetings, and emails you have which is so important in legal matters lasting many weeks and months in some cases. Needless to say our first meeting with Jake was productive and we came away with a clear picture of what needed to be done. Our first meeting was followed up with a detailed email from Jake the next day April 2, 2009 that gave us an Adjustment of Status Introduction with lots of detailed information along with a secure link for us to click on giving us access to all the questionnaires and forms and other paperwork we needed to complete. Going back and forth with Jake's able team we were able to complete all of our AOS paperwork on June 5, 2009 and my wife's petition was scanned and filed with the Citizenship and Immigration Service (CIS) by an associate of Jake's on June 15, 2009. On July 28, 2009 we received an appointment notice from Jake to come in and meet with him to better help us prepare for the AOS interview which was helpful in getting us prepared in how to dress and best answer the Immigration Officer's questions which was scheduled for August 28, 2009. Our interview with the Immigration Officer could not have gone better with the Officer saying at one point, "your paperwork is really nicely organized" which he was not surprised about after seeing that we worked with Jake who the Officer said was great too. Along these lines, it was kind of interesting to hear from the Immigration Officer at the end of our formal interview that he had seen more than enough already when I tried to pull out another photo album detailing our many pictures, postcards, emails, etc between my wife and I which was nice to feel that we were more than prepared and in fact over prepared for our interview which gave us great confidence and peace of mind too. In fact our Immigration Officer said after our formal interview that my wife's Green Card would arrive within the next two to four weeks, but in reality took even less time with my wife receiving it on September 10, 2009. It goes without saying that my wife and I and now nine year old son could say a lot more positive things about Jake and his team and how his team helped us out again in 2012 with my wife's successful I-751 filing, but better yet give Jake a call and find out for yourselves. I definitely think Jake and his team deserve our 5 out of 5 stars rating we gave him and his team.
