Some divorces are complicated. My cases are the kinds of cases most attorneys never want to touch. I handle divorce litigation, appeals, custody, support, and asset division, with particular focus on cases that are too complicated, too contentious, or too litigated for most attorneys.
I represent clients in high-conflict divorce and custody cases involving coercive control, financial abuse, vexatious litigants, sovereign citizens, and opposing parties who treat litigation as an extension of the relationship. These cases require more than a specialized knowledge of family law, they require pattern recognition, psychological fluency, and an attorney who isn't afraid to litigate.
I bring a background in crisis counseling and psychology to every case I take. I was also a special education attorney for years, so I get the nuances of how special needs can impact family dynamics and custody.
I teach trial advocacy at Stanford Law School. I chair the Family Law legislation review committee for the Conference of California Bar Associations. I actually know what I'm doing.
