Final bill was much higher than the the initial estimate although there was an existing valid will and trust, clear title, no debt and no liens or challenges to the estate. We did not receive any invoices from Mr Shjeflo for 10 months - he finally sent them all in the same envelope so we were not aware of the escalating costs. Refused to divulge information about his course of action or permit input to the planning process and also refused to complete work on the estate until we hired a new tax preparer. Helped develop a tax strategy that was of neglible benefit to us but netted both him and the new accountant much higher fees. After the final papers were signed we discovered that a key component of the trust had never been completed. We were able to recover a portion of the excess fees charged through the fee arbitration process but that was also a stressful and time-consuming procedure. From start to finish this was a horrible experience. Regretfully I cannot recommend Mr Shjeflo.
More Walter Eugene Shjeflo Jr’s response:“No matter we handled matches the reviewer's description of services or advice or results and we did not receive any such complaint. Avvo does not reveal the names of reviewers so the most I can do here is post this comment warning people of this inaccurate and anonymous review. It is unfortunate that harmful material like this is unfairly published without requiring some reasonable showing that it is not fraudulent and malicious.”
