you should bring this to their attention and ask them to adjust their bill. Have your new lawyer deal with this issue.

you write them a letter explaining the history of the prior placement and bhow the debt was paid (who, what, when etc.) and then send it to them...

you need a judgment to begin to levy. You can then levy any accounts with his name on them.
