sounds like a classic hard money loan. You need to take tyour papers and go talk to a real estate attorney.

Depending on the contract terms he can demand repayment and if that does not happen sue you for the return of his loan. talk to a local lawyer.

you can sue if you wish. Do they give you meal and rest breaks along with pay for any overtime.
