ADVOCATE FOR ABUSERS NOT CHILDREN-

Patricia was the attorney for my children in a very serious child abuse dependency court case. She was grossly negligent of my children and their case. She rarely ever saw my children, did not investigate, ignored domestic violence issues, never returned any of my children's therapists' calls, and ...has a discrimination against single mothers. Her law students saw my children about once every three months, and they were switched by the semester. After we exited Dependency Court, my child had told his/her teacher, "I pee my pants when I see my attorney." This woman should not be representing children, nor teaching law students about law. I expected that a law professor would know better than other attorneys that children do not disclose abuse to people they do not know, and you must dig further, build a close relationship with the child, and maintain that close relationship with that child. I was regretfully wrong. My children will until they are adult be exposed to their abuser and be at risk at every moment because of this attorney's failure to her duties as a child advocate. I can only pray that they survive to adulthood. I now have to face the man who raped and beat me for years on a regular basis. She hides behind the veil of her transparency of confidentiality in Dependency Court. Do not ever allow Dependency Courts to appoint this attorney or her advocacy clinic for your children. You have the right to object to interns representing your children.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
