Conor Hughes Kennedy

Conor Kennedy counsels clients in litigation and mediation of matters involving website compliance with federal and state commerce and privacy laws (Data-Scraping/FCRA/FTC Section 5/TCPA/Sweepstakes), as well as copyright and trademark licensing, registration, and litigation. He represents companies in trademark office actions in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office and refusal appeals before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Conor obtained his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served on the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology (JOLT) and published his JOLT Digest Comment regarding administrative law and online advertising standards. While finishing his law degree at Harvard, Conor took part in paid and volunteer research positions with Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society, with a specific focus on cloud computing technology and international copyright law. Conor received his B.A. from Brown University, where his studies included federal Internet “e-rate” legislation and regulation concerning the “digital divide” in public schools and libraries. He also organized concerts for a grassroots musicians' cooperative.

Before joining Kronenberger Rosenfeld LLP, Conor worked in Washington, D.C. as the Appellate Advocacy Fellow with the Electronic Privacy Information Center, drafting amicus briefs to the Supreme Court and key circuit panels concerning the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, constitutional violations under federal statute § 1983, and open government laws. Conor served as a key staffer on the organization’s most successful challenge to existing regulations under the Administrative Procedures Act, decided by the D.C. Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. The FTC featured Conor as a regulatory expert for an industry Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) panel.
