Sean Patrick Joyce

I originally worked with a high end firm in SF and was assigned a lawyer with less then 2 year experience. Long story short the lawyer over charged me and gave me very bad advice. I was able to find Sean and he has been my lawyer for last 7 years. Long story short Sean was able to help me win my ...case and I now have 100% custody of both my kids. I can not say kind things about Sean and it's been very emotional for me to see my kids everyday. Sean's rates are more then reasonable, he has many years of experience and is there for his clients. I found Sean through a referral. Someone overheard me talking about my situation with a counselor at the courthouse. He said "Hire this guy. He's really good, fair, and will be upfront with costs". After speaking with a half dozen attorneys I felt most confident with Sean's approach and his will...ingness to guide me through the legal paperwork. My ex and I chose the mediation route for our divorce. A few months into the process I realized that mediation is not for everyone. My situation turned into a nightmare. My ex filed several motions just weeks after my divorce was settled. I felt exhausted & defeated but I was not hopeless. I had been working with Sean for and we had built a good rapport. I cannot recommend Sean enough as divorce counsel. He has been an ally and a protector for me, without sacrificing his or my integerity, and without tearing down my ex. Sean has Integrity. I realize this sounds dramatic, but it is not hyperbole. I was in the middle of a difficult divorce, representing myself against my ex’s notoriously aggressive counsel in a failed attempt to save money for the kids, and was, as a consequence, depressed and not caring for my kids well. Against all odds, Sean took my case (where others would not) after listening carefully to my situation, and after carefully questioning me to ensure I was a man of my word, and was not misleading him in any way. Over the past 2 years, Sean has successfully represented me, and brought an equitable settlement to my divorce, correcting the imbalance that was created when I represented myself. As a result of this partnership, my stress level is so much lower and my confidence has increased. It might sound like an exaggeration, but this has improved my performance at work, and has improved my ability to be a dad to my kids. Sean faced a very aggressive opposing counsel, and did not sink to their level, or allow me to sink to their level. Not only did he maintain his integrity and mine, but he also prevailed. To those of you facing the emotional pain of a divorce, I am sorry - I’ve been there, and it is so hard. But, having come out on the other side, I can safely and sincerely say that preserving your integrity (or finding it, in my case) is the single most important thing you can take our of a challenging divorce. Noting but great things to say about Sean and his staff (Aaron.) Going through a divorce is never easy especially when you are dealing with greedy people and bad attorneys. My first attorney was useless but then retained Sean. Sean and Aaron were on point and directed me in the right way. Never felt ...out of the loop or unaware. they gave me all my options and explained them thoroughly so we can make the right decision to settle ts divorce. They weren't about just making money, they truly cared and were looking out for me. It was a long and process but without Sean I couldn't have got through it as I did.
