I focus on individual and family immigration matters, including green cards, citizenship, and asylum, at Alcorn Immigration Law. I’m also an immigrant. I came to the U.S. with my family at the age of 5 from Iraq, where I was born. We settled in Silicon Valley to be close to extended family. As a teenager, I remember family members struggling to represent themselves in legal matters. Since then, I aspired to become a lawyer to advocate for those in need of legal representation.
I have also previously practiced family law and have extensive experience in the field of family law as well.
While earning my bachelor’s degree, I volunteered with JusticeCorps, an AmeriCorps program designed to help family law litigants who are representing themselves, complete legal forms.
During law school, I appeared as student counsel before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. I also worked as a paralegal at a boutique law firm in San Jose. Once I was admitted into the California Bar, I worked as an associate attorney there on family-based immigration and family law matters.
Yes hayeren guh khosem. Yo hablo español básico.
When I’m not practicing law, I enjoy dancing, traveling, cooking, baking, playing music, and playing with my dog, Will.

From the start, communication was poor—emails and calls often went unanswered, and when I did hear back, the responses were vague and unhelpful. The attorney seemed disorganized, missing important deadlines and not following thro...

Poor communication
I had a very disappointing experience with this lawyer. Communication was poor; they rarely returned my calls or responded to emails in a timely manner. When we finally met, I felt rushed and that my concerns were not taken seriously.

Thorough, efficient and very professional
I contacted Anita at Alcorn Immigration to handle the response to a Request For Evidence (RFE) for an i751 case whose deadline was 3 days away. Anita agreed to work on my case right away and did a great job gathering all my data and putting together a great case that led to an approval in less tha...
