High quality means we sit down with each client and get a thorough understanding of their financial affairs, their family situation, their goals and concerns for their future before we start any planning.  High quality means we listen to you, then provide legal advice.  We are timely and responsive - returning calls and emails within 24 hours and getting documents finished when you need them.

Customized means we are not a high-volume document mill offering "flavor-of-the-month" specials.  We provide detailed, thorough documents to handle life's uncertainties and each client's unique situation.  However, we also provide "plain English" summaries that you can understand.

Reasonable prices means for most documents and services you will receive a "flat-fee" quote up-front; not endless billable hours at rates that may discourage you from getting started on your estate plan.  We do not try to sell costly premium service plans; every client receives thorough and in-depth service.

Portola Law's owner and principal attorney at law is Thomas W. Six.  Mr. Six received a B.S. (Accounting) from Marquette University in 1985 and a J.D. from UC-Hastings College of the Law in 1991.  At Hastings, he focused on estates, trusts, and estate, gift and generation skipping taxation.  He is a member of the Trusts/Estates and Taxation sections of the State Bar of California and is an Active Member in Good Standing with no record of discipline.

Tom Six is also a Certified Public Accountant (California).  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of CPA's and the Financial Planning Association.
