Phyra May McCandless

I am a public health attorney with experience representing whistleblowers in health care fraud actions and plaintiffs in complex product liability litigation and class actions. My practice focuses on qui tam (whistleblower) False Claims Act cases and pharmaceutical and medical device mass tort litigation. I am a member of Taxpayers Against Fraud, the Queen’s Bench, the American Public Health Association, the American Association of Justice, the Consumer Attorneys of California, and I hold leadership positions in the San Francisco Bar Association (BASF) and the American Bar Association (ABA) Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). I serve on the BASF Barristers Club and Justice & Diversity Center Boards of Directors and as well as the Technology Vice Chair for the Medicine & Law and Toxic Tort & Environmental Law committees of ABA-TIPS. I am admitted to practice in California State Court, the Central, Eastern, Southern, and Northern Districts of California as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
