Dirk Samuel Stemerman

Dirk helped me with a Workers Comp case. His demeanor and knowledge during the deposition was impressive. I felt like I was on a winning team from the get-go. I was very nervous because I have never been examined like that before but as those two hours passed I knew he had my back. Someone recently posted a negative message about Dirk Stemerman Esq., on Avvo.com (an attorney search and rating website), which is, from my own personal experience, completely FALSE. My experience with attorneys dates back to the late 50s when I first began working in the legal field,  first as a... receptionist, then many years as a legal secretary and paralegal and later as a law office manager. I also married an attorney. Workers’ Compensation is high volume and the nature of the workload simply does not allow for an attorney to respond to every single inquiry from a client that may come up at various stages in litigation, while also making frequent court appearances and depositions. For those reasons, a workers’ compensation attorney must rely on the support of legal assistants and staff to communicate regularly with clients and address issues that commonly arise in workers’ compensation cases. Dirk Stemerman's standards and values are firmly in place.  He cares about his clients and learns all there is to know about the person, their history, and the injuries involved so that, together with his staff, Mr. Stemerman works hard to make sure that each client receives the best possible attention and outcome on each WC claim. I personally had never been involved in a lawsuit of any kind, much less a workers compensation claim, until I suffered injuries in the work place two years ago.   It's different when you are the injured person "on the other side". You are living in pain, you are impatient, you are insecure financially,  and suddenly placed in a position of dealing with insurance companies, temporary disability, employers, doctors, being suddenly cut off from friends and a quality of life you once enjoyed. Not happy. Fortunately for me, I had the foresight to hire the Rucka O'Boyle Lombardi McKenna lawfirm and I THANK MY BLESSINGS FOR DIRK STEMERMAN and his staff.  Good things began to happen. I felt relief, taken care of. In all my 81 years, I have never had my deposition taken.  The day of this deposition, I was in pain, not entirely focused and very nervous.  Without going into detail, Mr. Stemerman exhibited the compassion I needed that day to get me through. More recently when I was mistakenly put on schedule to work in two days hence at my job by a persistent HR person before I had doctor's clearance, I panicked and contacted the office. Mr.  Stemerman was in WCAB Court and the Paralegal I usually dealt with was on Family Leave, but Mr.  Stemerman's legal assistant, made sure that I was taken care of and, that same afternoon upon his return,  even though it was late in the day,  Mr. Stemerman immediately wrote a letter that effectively took care of the problem.  Mr.  Stemerman and/or a member of his staff,  particularly Rafael Albarrán, Paralegal, without exception, have responded to every single phonecall and/or email in a timely manner, answering all questions with the  necessary information.  Everytime I requested an appointment, it was never a problem to be seen at the soonest time convenient to both of us. Those accusations were an attack, unfair and untrue and, in my estimation,  should never have been posted. I would proudly and highly recommend Dirk Stemerman, a man of integrity and a lawyer who shows up and does his job.

A bit about me...I am female and a very proud member of Local 314 Carpenters Union of Madison, WI. I successfully served a four year apprenticeship and achieved Journeyman status. I loved being a carpenter in Wisconsin for over thirteen years. My job was my life. Sadly, my husband died from colon can...cer and I felt I needed a change so I moved to California. Shortly after moving I sustained a life altering injury to my right hand while working in a cabinet shop in Big Sur. Adding insult to my injury the workers compensation system I was dealing with treated me very disrespectfully. They even had the audacity to insinuate I may have caused this accident intentionally. As you can imagine I was very depressed and sad because I knew I would never be able to perform as I did before the accident and I had these people treating me like I was asking for this to happen! I was feeling like I had NO one in my corner to back me up. All I wanted was my fingers back and to go to work. I felt I had no choice but to hire a lawyer. I am happy to say after hiring Dirk, and working with his paralegal Rafael I feel I had the very best outcome possible. I was awarded a settlement which allowed me to pursue a degree and then able to attain my real estate license. I was treated with care and respect by Dirk and Rafael.
