I have been the legal guardian of my grandchild and the biological father wanted sole custody. Carolyn came highly recomm...ended from a Los Angeles Attorney. She was forthright with all of the issues that I would encounter. I had the end goal in mind and she chipped away at each of the legal procedures that were needed to attain my goal. Up front, I do not believe that I could have done a better job selecting my lawyer. As advertised, Ms. Harris is compassionate, experienced, and knowledgeable. Do not hesitate; do not make the mistake of going with another lawyer. Ms. Harris’ website advertises her as compassionate and experience...d. I will start with compassion. Undoubtedly, without Ms. Harris’ compassion, I could not be handling such a stressful process as well as I have. Setting aside the confusion and didactic legalities, there were many times Ms. Harris helped me cope with my situation. She listened and provided great comfort. Ms. Harris always made time for me and promptly responded to my calls. She kept me well informed. As a litigator and legal expert, I would put her up against any lawyer on the Peninsula or the county for that matter. In addition to her vast knowledge of procedure, law, and case law, she is a master in the courtroom. She meticulously prepares herself for court. She is very detail-oriented. Watching her make closing argument in my case was like watching poetry in motion. Ms. Harris is the embodiment of professionalism, sophistication, and class. She does not compromise her standards and engage in character assassination of the opposition. With her preparation and legal knowledge, she argues the law in order to prevail. I cannot emphasize enough that if you are in need of a lawyer, that you choose Ms. Harris. My advice to you is that you must understand and do a couple of things. First, be realistic about the law and how your situation fits into it. Ms. Harris is honest and will not entertain unrealistic expectations. She freely admits that she has no “crystal ball”. Nor should you hold any illusions. Do expect that she can and will give you the best legal advice that is available. Second, do your own research. Google is a wonderful thing. Ms. Harris is wonderful at explaining the legal process and matters of your case, but it is in your best interest to have an understanding of all the matters involved.
