Jason Nels Vogelpohl

I met with Jason to consult about Bankruptcy. It was a simple BK, too much debt, not enough income. I easily fit in the guidelines for a chapter 7, however he tried to convince me a 13 was better. I took his assessment to another lawyer and got a second opinion, she was baffled until she saw the ...prices he was charging. He said the fees were simple because they were regulated by CA. Not 100% true, the MAXIMUMS are regulated by CA. He was trying to charge me the maximum fees for every possible item. Furthermore, I told him we should exclude the car loan as it was manageable and had a decent interest rate, he recommended against it because by including it he could charge another fee. I ended up filing for chapter 7 with another lawyer, paying less than half what he would have charged me and all my debt was discharged without making payments. Stay away form this guy.

He reassured me that the process was fairly simple and straightforward. We discussed the differences between a Chapter 7 and a ...Chapter 13 and I chose the 13. He went with me to the hearing and everything went exactly as he said it would. I only wish I'd done this sooner.
