Unfortunately I had a bad experience with this attorney and had her removed from my case. She did NOT provided the quality of service she lead be to believe I would receive when she was retained. I was NOT kept informed of information pertaining to my case. I DID NOT receive vital documentation regar...ding my case. I DID NOT receive repossess to my questions or calls.
She did not look after MY best interest. She did not listen to my needs and my concerns.
I filed for divorce in Sept. 2008 after living with and knowing about my husbands ongoing affair for 15 months. We were not given a court date until 2/2009 to gain any kind of financial support. Ms. Lopez did not listen to me in regards to my request for primary custody of the amount of support I needed to pay the marital debit I was left with when my husband walked out on me and our three kids.
She, my husband and my husbands attorney brokered a "deal" on the day of our court hearing. I was NOT included in the negotiations and did NOT agree or know of the results until they were read in front of the judge. She agreed I would have shared custody and assume ALL marital debit. My husband walked out with paying 780.00 a month and I ended up with 3,600.00 per month in bills. I was a stay at home mom and only worked part time for over 20 years. She refused to disclose the letter my son (15) wrote to the judge asking not to be forced to live with his father and his mistress.
After the court hearing I was livid. I tried calling Ms. Lopez several times. My calls were NEVER returned. I received no contact from her of any kind. My husband and his attorney made threats against me with further action because she did not follow through with the "After Hearing" reports.
In late Feb. my husband showed up at my residence announced with a trailer while I was at work. Planning to remove furnishings and property from my home. The court gave me control over ALL property during our court hearing. Ms. Lopez did not provide me with the documentation I needed to present to the Sheriffs department to not allow my husband to remove things from our home. Thanks to a friend in law enforcement, I was able to ask the proper questions and give the proper answers to prevent my husband from removing anything from my home. I was able to obtain copies of the court notes on my own.
I terminated Ms. Lopez services in March 2009. I have been requesting a final billing statement and record of payment from her office and to date have not received any records.
My husband was ordered to pay 2,500.00 of my attorney fees. The last billing statement I received from her stated I only owed her 700.00.
If you are thinking about hiring this attorney I hope you have a simple case and are willing to be left in the dark. She will not work for you.
