Our college age son, who is away at school, got into some trouble having an open container of beer on the front porch of his friend's house. We didn't know who to turn to for help. This offense, if not dealt with properly, could have left him without a license for an entire year, which because of him... being away from home, could have been a nightmare. Our son did lose his license for 6 weeks, and during that time had to take classes in order to be able to lawfully drive again, but, our son did not have to appear in court.
