Daniel John Tatick

I was born and raised just north of Santa Barbara, California.  I attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Business Law.  While there, I was awarded and maintained the Orfalea College of Business Scholarship, an award given to the top three academic performers of each entering class.  Throughout my undergraduate college career, I learned and practiced the values of team work, leadership and hard work.

After graduating from Cal Poly, I worked for a year as a paralegal at a personal injury law firm in San Luis Obispo before making the decision to head to the Midwest to attend graduate school.  Upon completing my graduate studies, I then began attending law school at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California.  There, I earned a Dean’s Merit Scholarship and a CALI Award in Constitutional Law before graduating magna cum laude.

Once out of law school, I knew that the practice of personal injury litigation was where I belonged after getting a taste of helping people fight billion dollar insurance companies when working as a personal injury paralegal.  My first job was with a large Orange County firm handling only personal injury claims but I realized that firm was not a firm that tried cases but merely referred the harder cases to other attorneys to take to court.  Knowing that the court room is where I wanted to be, I looked for a law firm that not only had a great reputation in the area of personal injury but also took cases to court when it was not possible to resolve a claim for fair value, which unfortunately happens all too often.   

I was hired by Russell & Lazarus soon thereafter and have put my significant personal injury experience to work representing injured consumers in and out of the court room.  I am thrilled to have landed my dream job representing people, who through no fault of their own, are injured and need help getting back on their feet medically and financially as a result of injuries they have sustained due to the careless or intentional actions of someone else.

My goal of becoming an attorney was a result of my desire to help every day people. This remains my driving force at Russell & Lazarus.  I enjoy getting to know my clients personally during the process of attempting to help resolve their claims by way of settlement or court action.  I believe trust and communication with my clients are essential to achieving success on any given claim that I handle.  I utilize a straightforward, transparent approach and work closely with myclients to resolve their cases.  I care  for my clients and thoroughly explain each possible course of action so my clients can make the right decision as to what to do with their claims, which makes for a good client experience even under difficult circumstances.  Not only is that my goal but that is the goal of the Russell & Lazarus law firm which is why I am proud to be a part of the Russell & Lazarus team.
