Poor Communication and lack of concern or interest

I’m writing this review so that others hopefully don’t have the same experiences I’ve had with this office. I’m giving a generous two stars, because they finally did reply. I contacted Dr. Malcolm’s law office just following a hospital incident in which I unnecessarily went into cardiac arrest.... After almost weekly polite cajoling by me and a call to his office from another lawyer, I finally received a response to my case TWO MONTHS LATER! It’s unprofessional and simply unacceptable to leave a patient like me waiting this long. Minus one star. Unfortunately, the response was a canned form letter with no explanation. A simple, “Your case has been rejected”. Yes, I loyally waited two months for that without contacting another lawyer. Lesson learned. Clients owe no loyalty to any lawyer who wants you to not contact others. A word to the wise, if you must deal with this office, it’s better to lie on their intake form and say you haven’t contacted any other lawyer, but then do it anyway, because you can’t count on Dr. Malcom. Be your own best advocate. Minus one more star. In the response, they informed me of the six month statute of limitations after robbing me of two months of it while I waited. That’s right, one third of my time to flind a lawyer they waisted. To me, this is negligence. Then I politely asked for a referral and was told the only one they refer to died and I should contact the courthouse. Minus one more star. Dr. Malcom may be a competent doctor and a good malpractice lawyer. I have no idea. However, his office communication is dreadful and I’ve heard not one word concerning my case. No guidance or help whatsoever. It makes you wonder about other competencies.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
