I am an OTR driver dedicated account and I was cited for speeding on the grapevine(12 over limit). As a CDL holder and Company driver my job was on the line!! My speeding ticket in a commercial vehicle was reduced to a non-moving violation with no points on my record. I, a senior US citizen, was driving my rental car (Nissan Altima) on I5 from LAX to SFO 10:00am in July. While driving down grapevine, a sudden urgent need to release myself (tummy ache with both number one and number two, I am not expecting any young people will understand how urgent it is) ... I was driving at 80mph on the faster lane, when decided to exit as soon as I can, I have to change to right lane first, but there was another vehicle next to me at the same speed. So I speed up a bit and for few seconds I looked at the speedometer, it displayed 100mph. I applied the brake immediately and at the same time changed to the right lane. As soon as I changed to right lane, I realized a CHP vehicle was parking there at the shoulder, so I stopped behind the CHP vehicle and saw the sirens started. Then siren stopped. I told the CHP officer what happened, and he handed over a 103mph ticket to me. I then hurried to get relief the next exit. I went home and had a few sleepless night. Because I am not a "crazy" driver and have a clean record, this incident borders me a lot. While praying to God for wisdom and trying to analyze how I can defend myself. I called the court clerk for ticket process information and learned that seeking help from attorney is quite common. And I know that this is the answer to my prayers. I went to internet to find an attorney and from over five web sites, "Bigger & Harman, APC" is the only one showing they specialize on traffic tickets. My daughter was ticketed (radar) on I5 allegedly going 101 mph, she was facing a $900 fine and 2 points on her license. Paul was able to get her case dismissed entirely.
