Myra D. Mossman

Justices of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles acknowledge Myra Mossman, Esq. for her legal skills in handling complex criminal appeals. In recognition of her outstanding work, Myra was appointed four times for three-year terms to the federal criminal appellate panel for the Ninth Circuit. 

Ms. Mossman prevailed in a Special Appointment stemming from a District of Guam case. Myra has had numerous oral arguments before the Ninth Circuit, an appearance in the United States Supreme Court, and a number of published opinions. 

Ms. Mossman has two law degrees; the JD from the United States and the LL.B from Canada, where she specialized in business and international business transactions, in both countries. She designed and taught law school courses in federal appellate practice, electronic legal research, and clinical studies. Myra is also admitted to practice in Michigan, the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Tax Court.

With over twenty years legal experience, Ms. Mossman brings a wealth of understanding to all aspects of an appellate practice, trust management services, consulting, and mediation. Myra also draws upon other academic and professional accomplishments to facilitate her clients.

Ms. Mossman has a B.A (Honors) in anthropology. Myra is a black belt martial artist, with over 12 years of training. She is an archival hand bookbinder and paper restorer, having worked at the Public Archives and National Library of Canada. Myra has an avid interest in the tarot and does intuitive counseling and teaching in her Insight Tarot practice.

Ms. Mossman has extensive experience in presenting oral argument, with an appearance before the United States Supreme Court and numerous appearances in the Ninth Circuit. Myra prevailed in a Special Appointment from an appeal arising in the District of Guam and in other Ninth Circuit published opinions. She has successfully invalidated appeal waivers. Her clients were awarded remands to the federal district court to reduce the amount of restitution in a number of decisions. Myra has succeeded against the IRS in a number of claims.

Ms. Mossman is admitted to the Michigan Bar, Sixth and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, United States Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court, as well as in Canada.
